FOUNDER, CEO
I met Sefroza in Uganda. She was old and alone. She had been a child bride and adolescent mother who never went to school. Sefroza inspired me to fight the inequalities and inequities that keep people locked in poverty and injustice.

I was born in Haiti and moved to the United States at a young age. I want to support marginalized groups facing healthcare inequalities. As an immigrant, I understand firsthand the challenges of finding the proper support and navigating the healthcare system.

Moses Kyei Baffour (He/His)
PROGRAM MANAGER
I am a champion for women's empowerment. My passion for supporting girls began watching my single mother struggle to make life meaningful for her ten children. This has encouraged and motivated me to work with ACESWorld to advance gender equality.

Mohamed Hassan (He/His)
M&E TEAM LEAD
I am passionate about international development and explaining the importance of our work. We can alleviate poverty by providing access to quality education, including reproductive health and rights education, and promoting economic opportunities for all.

SOCIAL MEDIA TEAM LEAD
I am is passionate about improving sexual and reproductive health for women, especially those living in vulnerable communities. I believe that every woman should be able to make their own choices about their health and education. I want to be a voice for those don't have the opportunity to be heard. I am excited to join ACESWorld to create a more equitable world for women!

I am passionate about women’s health and child health, particularly in marginalized communities. I believe education is the key to empowerment, eliminating health disparities, and promoting gender equality. My background in medicine and public health is my driving force for effecting change globally and aligns with ACESWorld’s mission.

Karan Wadhawan (He/His)
RESEARCH AND GRANT TEAM LEAD
I have lived in various countries and have seen the disproportionate health disparities and inequities amplified in vulnerable communities. I am passionate about working to develop programs that address diversity, racial and economic bias, and inclusion for at-risk communities. I work to secure grants for climate appropriate measures for vulnerable populations.

HEALTH EQUITY AND RESOURCE LIBRARY TEAM LEAD
I have a passion for working to combat social and health disparities, and work with nonprofit organizations providing free medical care for the uninsured, and linking individuals to affordable or free care for Hepatitis C. I am excited to be a part of ACESWorld and to help with their mission to tackle health and socioeconomic issues domestically and internationally.

I am passionate about improving health by addressing health disparities and strengthening community health. I grew up as a ‘third-culture kid’ and am thus passionate about empowering young girls to live up to their full potential and improving the lives of individuals living with limited resources. I am excited to work with the ACESWorld team because I believe in the power of education and opportunity.

Mira Bakine (She/Her)
I am a Congolese American with a profound love for global health and health equity. I’m thrilled to join ACESWorld and be a part of an amazing team that diligently works on innovative solutions to empower communities. My exposure to different cultures and parts of the world grants me an understanding of some of the different barriers that play a role in the disparities impacting disadvantaged populations. I aim to promote good health for all through education, diplomacy, and advocacy as well as through the equitable allocation of resources among disadvantaged groups.

Sarah Siegfried (She/Her)
Having lived in several different regions of the United States, I have witnessed a broad array of social and economic drivers and their influence on the health of our society. With a background in health systems strengthening and information management, I have seen patient challenges with social and health inequity at the bedside and on a macro level. In addition, I bring lived experience in advocating for care ranging from chronic disease to pediatric behavioral health. I aim to use this knowledge and acquired skills to influence incremental, sustainable change for the health of our communities, the global population, and our planet.

I'm Martine Souverain and I am thrilled to join ACESWorld as an intern. I'm a fitness enthusiast, devoted mom to a lively toddler, and passionate about public health through the lens of maternal and infant health. Fitness is my lifestyle, and being a mom has taught me invaluable lessons. Balancing both worlds, I've developed a deep appreciation for maternal and infant health. I'm excited to merge my passions and contribute to projects empowering women in both the local and international spheres. Let's make magic happen at ACESWorld!

I joined ACESWorld because I believe that efforts towards gender equality need a bigger platform and strong partners. I have worked with the underserved Asian American communities of Los Angeles and provided linguistically-appropriate resources to connect the community to better care. I am passionate about promoting preventive healthcare, and women’s health and excited to be a part of the ACESWorld team.

Tameka Houston (She/Her)
I am a Registered Nurse with twelve years of experience. I specialized in critical care, working in intensive care and the emergency room. I currently work as a nurse case manager addressing social determinants of health. I collaborate with patients to implement patient-centered goals to improve long-term health outcomes. I am a team player and participates in and leads multiple work groups and committees to address workflow throughput and efficiency. I desire to unify my passion for nursing and public health, hence my internship at ACESWorld. I am inspired daily by my husband and three children. In my spare time, I participate in health events for my church.

As a first generation Mexican-American and military veteran, I’m passionate about disparities in healthcare access among communities who do not receive quality care. I’m specifically interested in improving access to quality care among women within these communities. I hope that while working with ACESWorld I can enhance my skills in the public health field and contribute to impactful change among communities facing health disparities through education and advocacy.

I am from Orange County, California, and currently a sophomore at UCLA majoring in public affairs. I am passionate about public policy and, in particular, health care policy. I believe that, one day, we can put an end to health disparities and inequities through national policy reforms. The idea that I can help people lead healthier lives by developing policies that increase their access to health care both inspires and motivates me. By working with ACESWorld, I hope to expand my knowledge, develop new skills, and start making an impact on people’s lives.

Cheng Tung (He/Him)
I currently live with my wonderful wife and two boisterous children, 8- and 5-year-old. Watching my children develop their being within a nurturing and safe environment encouraged me to pursue a Master’s in Public Health with George Washington University. Also, my travels with the U.S. Navy as a non-physician clinician (15+ years) and encountering disparate communities sparked my desire to help people living in low-middle income nations achieve similar opportunities as my children. ACESWorld will undoubtedly infuse more knowledge and help me translate knowledge into actionable activities toward achieving public health goals.

Latearia Perkins (she/her/hers)
I live in Florida and I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Health degree at Florida International University. My journey into public health began three years ago when I served as a Preventive Medicine Specialist in the Army. This role has taken me across Southeast Asia and the Middle East, where I played a significant part in promoting health and preventing the spread of infections and diseases within the Army. At ACESWorld, I’m excited to learn how to create strategic initiatives and special projects that address health disparities among minority communities.

Alexandra (Alia) Haqani (she/her/hers).
I currently live in Vacaville, CA and work as a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor / Mental Health technician in the U.S. Air Force. I’ve always had an interest in the Public Health field after seeing first-hand global health disparities as a child, which led me to later pursue my Master of Public Health at George Washington University. Now with interning at ACESWorld, I am quite excited to hone my public health skills and knowledge in a non-profit organization, as well as make invaluable waves of positive change within current health equity disparity challenges.

Nenrot Sandra Gopep
Nenrot Sandra Gopep is a dedicated public health advocate with a robust background in medicine and community engagement. She has contributed to transformative health initiatives, from managing disease outbreaks in Nigeria to advancing research on health disparities at Georgia Southern University, where she is pursuing an MPH in Epidemiology. Nenrot’s work spans leading vaccination campaigns in underserved communities to conducting epidemiological analyses using tools like SAS and R. Her passion for equitable healthcare is fueled by personal experiences and a commitment to systemic change, making her a valuable asset to initiatives that empower communities through innovative public health solutions.
