Black Lives Matter to Us

Dear Friends and Supporters,

The Association for Community Empowerment Solutions believes that Black Lives Matter. "Black lives matter, regardless of actual or perceived sexual identity, gender identity, gender expression, economic status, ability, disability, religious beliefs or disbeliefs, immigration status, or location."

My fight for justice and human rights for Black Americans began when I was a child. I began demonstrating for civil rights with my father in Washington, DC, attended the March on Washington and witnessed Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. I have witnessed Ku Klux Klan rallies in Maryland and experienced overt racism at school and in the workplace. I am the daughter, mother and spouse of a Black man in America.

Our team works to protect Black Lives because they all matter.

Best regards,

Linda B Jackson
